Dean A. McClyman, age 73, of Adams, WI, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Wisconsin Rapids.
Dean was born August 19, 1947 in Portage, WI to Clarence and Lorena (Adee) McClyman. He served his country in the United States Army from 1968-1970.
He married Kay Hicks on June 12, 1971 in Brooks, WI. Together they had three children: Pam, Mike, and Jenny. The marriage ended in divorce in 1993. He married Sharon L. Deitcher (Mann) on August 28, 2006.
Before retirement, Dean worked at the Walmart in Portage Automotive Center and prior to that held other diesel/automotive mechanic positions. In addition, he was a personal mechanic for his kids and other family members which we all greatly appreciated.
Dean was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed working on cars, watching NASCAR races, the occasional trip to a casino, and trying to win on scratch off lottery tickets.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Sharon McClyman; three children: Pam McManamy (Brian Larson), Mike (Lois) McClyman, and Jenny McClyman; stepchildren: Larry (Christine) Deitcher, Kevin (Angela) Deitcher, Barb (Howard) Klamrowski and Cyndi (Nate) Davis; twenty-one grandchildren: three great-grandchildren: sisters: Shirley Krueger and Carol VanBuren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Robert McClyman and Arden McClyman; mother-in-law, Marjorie Mann; and brothers-in-law: Russ VanBuren, Dave Krueger, and Robert Mann.
A Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Monday May 17, 2021 at the Adams Township Town Hall, 1980 11th Avenue, Friendship, WI. A graveside service with Military Honors will be at 2:00 P.M. at New Chester Cemetery in Oxford, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial giving can be made to Veterans Foundation, Inc (VAF) 1118 Superior Ave. Tomah, WI 54660 in Dean’s name or any memorials received by the family will be directed there.
